An Extraordinary Group Coaching Success Story

I Cannot Make It To Being Honored In Less Than A Year

Dallas, TX January 13, 2005 -- Ginger Cockerham, the guru of group coaching, announces her success with retaining and increasing the effectiveness of women in the workplace. In less than a year, one of her group coaching participants (Amy) went from describing her profession as "excruciatingly difficult" to being honored at her agencies Annual Agency Recognition Dinner for outstanding productivity.

Amy was part of a pilot group coaching project started six years by a large insurance company that has over $114 billion in assets. The initiative was to retain and increase the effectiveness of women financial representatives.

Here is Amys story:

April 8th - Hi Ginger, Every day and every week I have to resist the urge to quit this profession. It's excruciatingly difficult. I am hopeful the work with you and our group will keep me going on. Amy

June 10th - Hello everyone, putting a few systems in place and adding a part time assistant is helping. Thanks to all of you for supporting me in these important steps. Amy

August 26th - Ginger, you're right when you told the group once the flow gets started it's self-perpetuating. I've gotten some nice referrals, good appointments, and sold a few cases in the past two weeks. I'm visualizing myself as the mountain goat at the top of the peak. I can feel the cool breeze of freedom on my face. I am thankful to my buddy Judy for visualizing with me. I also want to improve my effectiveness in front of prospects and could use some help implementing a plan for myself. I would like this to be on the agenda for Tuesday. Amy

September 25th - Hi everyone, throughout our months together, I have found by attending these sessions and doing the homework that I have benefited enormously and feel so much more confident. I have achieved a new level of production. I am now working with better prospects and selling bigger premium cases. This is a huge deal for me. Our work is starting to show in my commission checks. Amy

October 6th - Hi Group, today we had our monthly "sales builder" meeting where we review our month's activity. This is the first month ever that I congratulated myself. No one could believe it was the same me. They're used to me focusing on my shortcomings. The group commented on my ability to enjoy my own success. Thanks for everything. Amy

January 20th - Twice in one day, other agents from the agency commented on my shift in attitude. On the ferry riding in on Monday, I ran into another agent. In a conversation he mentioned how much he's seen my attitude change and how happy he is for me. I shared my coaching homework with him and he asked for copies. Amy

February 6th - Hi Ginger - Isn't it a wonder, the stream of my progress? We had our annual agency recognition dinner last weekend and I qualified with my production. Established agents who didn't know my name a year ago were congratulating me. I also moved up one "Tier Group". I also "graduated" to a group who have been in the business anywhere from 4 to 8 years. When I put my numbers on the board, one person asked me if I had been in the business 3 or 4 years. I said, "not even two.'' Only one other person in the group was at my level of production. I expect to graduate from this new "class" quickly. Amy

March 12th - I just returned from San Diego where we held our Regional Meeting and people kept giving me positive feedback all day. I am so grateful to all of you for encouraging, challenging, and pushing me out there. Amy

Recent Update - My attitude continues to improve, as does my production. I was just elected as the President of my local chapter of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and my company recently honored me for my number. I have taken a young work friend under my wing to help him build his business. I check in with him daily and hold him accountable. For this he thanks me. At least once a week, I hear someone say, "You're fun!" I leave the office by 5:30. I just got back from my third vacation this year. I'm having my best year ever. Thank you again, Ginger. You're the best. Amy
